UK's South West Water (SWW) has enlisted BAM as a key player in its ambitious £2.8 billion investment endeavor, known as the AMP 8 Engineering Capital Delivery Programme. This initiative aims to enhance major infrastructure and bolster water resilience in response to climate change challenges.
BAM's role encompasses enhancing wastewater infrastructure in Cornwall, directly addressing beach pollution and enhancing water quality for approximately 3.5 million individuals across the South West region. This effort is part of the broader Amplify alliance, which includes construction partners like Clancy, Mott McDonald Bentley, Tilbury Douglas, MWH Treatment, and Network Plus Envolve. Together, they will execute SWW's investment plan from 2025 to 2030.

The Alliance has already embarked on preparing projects aimed at significantly reducing storm overflow usage, preserving the region's pristine bathing waters, and fortifying water resilience. This initiative is expected to inject vitality into the local economy, creating approximately 2,000 new jobs. Planned investments include new treatment facilities and reservoirs, underscoring the company's enduring commitment to its stakeholders and the environment.
