Is your business being overcharged on water bills?
H2O Building Services claims over one thousand businesses and organisations are paying much more than they should be prior to water market deregulation April 2017. H2O has carried out historical water audits and uncovered refunds due to water billing errors going back years.
Why is this?
When the water market has opened up to competition allowing none residential customers to switch water supplier and secure a better deal with another water retail company more and more overcharges are being uncovered due to the poor preparation work during the lead up to the water retail market opening its doors for business.
The data for some 1.2 million none residential customers was gathered and uploaded to a central market operating system and during this process it appears that literally thousands of customers are paying more than they should, and many customers have not been charged enough This is already bad news for customers and is and will cause major financial headaches in years to come.
The numbers can be quite staggering as this refund check demonstrates. One customer was overcharged nearly £17,000 a year resulting in a refund cheque of £99,584 but just think on if your business was undercharged and you received a bill for £99,584!
Since water market deregulation, the chances of overcharging and undercharging has increased substantially and the only way you will know for sure is to have a water audit carried out by a water cost reduction specialist.
