The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced that it has received eight bids for the development of the 30-million-imperial-gallons-per-day (MIGD) Ghafat Idah Reservoir Complex Pumping Station (PS6) and the Endurance Road Pumping Station (PD21) Phase 1, Stream A project, reports ZAWYA.
This tender, issued on August 12, 2024, drew interest from companies including Binghalib Technology, Danway Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Torishima Pump Manufacturing Co., Emarat Aloula Contracting Co., Green Oasis General Contracting Co., Gulf Contracting and Landscaping, Kalpataru Projects International, and Al Sawaed Al Qafelah General Contracting.
The submitted bids ranged from AED 85 million ($23 million) to AED 247 million ($67 million), with contractors providing proposals for one or both of the pumping stations. The bidding process officially closed on November 7, 2024.
The 24-month project will focus on advanced electro-mechanical works and the integration of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems. These elements are vital for ensuring operational efficiency and enhanced control of the pumping stations.
