Dr. Mirka Wilderer, Chief Executive Officer of AqueoUS Vets (AV), announced on her personal LinkedIn page that she will step down from the company at the end of the year, concluding a two-year tenure defined by rapid organizational transformation and operational modernization.
In her post, Dr. Wilderer reflected on the progress made since she joined the company in October 2023, when she was brought on to lead AV through a pivotal phase of change. “After two incredible years leading AqueoUS Vets, I will be transitioning from my role as CEO at the end of the year,” she wrote. “I am grateful for the trust placed in me, proud of what we accomplished together, and excited for the future ahead.”
According to her announcement, Dr. Wilderer’s mandate as a transformational CEO was to institutionalize the business and build the core capabilities necessary for long-term, scalable growth. Under her leadership, AqueoUS Vets:
Strengthened its leadership team
Established a disciplined operating cadence
Implemented key business systems
Embedded repeatable processes across the value chain
Activated what she described as the “AV Flywheel” to drive sustained momentum
“Most of all, I am deeply proud of how our team rose to the challenge, grew together, and fully embraced this transformation,” she wrote.
With the transformation phase complete, Wilderer emphasized that the company is now positioned to focus on operational consistency—particularly converting backlog and delivering reliable performance for the municipalities and communities the company serves. She noted that this shift marks a “natural moment for a leadership transition that aligns with the company’s next chapter.”
Dr. Wilderer joined AqueoUS Vets in October 2023, succeeding founder Rob Craw, who moved into the role of Executive Chairman. Her appointment was widely viewed as a strategic move to professionalize and scale the rapidly growing water treatment solutions provider.
A recognized leader in the global water sector, Dr. Wilderer previously served as the first female CEO of De Nora Water Technologies, and earlier held senior roles at Evoqua Water Technologies. She began her career as a strategy consultant for Siemens AG, with assignments spanning Europe, Asia, Africa, and the United States.
At the time of her appointment, Wilderer described AV as being at an “inflection point” in a U.S. water infrastructure landscape requiring significant investment and innovation.
