Egis, a global firm specializing in architecture, consulting, construction engineering, operations, and mobility services, has announced the acquisition of Ecometrix, an environmental and water consultancy based in Canada.
Founded in 2004, Ecometrix has developed a strong reputation for delivering high-end environmental services, supporting permitting and regulatory compliance for clients in the mining, nuclear, government, and private sectors. The company employs around 60 staff in Ontario.
According to Egis, the acquisition enhances its environmental expertise by doubling the firm’s presence in this field and strengthening its ability to deliver integrated solutions in nuclear, mining, and water resources.
Ecometrix’s experience in the nuclear sector will contribute to the growth of Egis’ Canadian nuclear practice, an area where Egis brings five decades of global expertise. The firm’s technical capabilities in mining are also expected to expand Egis’ reach in that sector, enabling the company to provide a more comprehensive suite of environmental services. Additionally, Ecometrix will allow Egis to broaden its in-house water resource capabilities to include larger industrial applications.
AEC Advisors, through its registered broker-dealer affiliate AEC Transaction Services LLC, served as the exclusive financial advisor to Ecometrix for the transaction.
