Saudi Arabia’s National Water Company will award a large engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a value of approximately $100 million, reports Utilities Middle East.
Sources told Zawya that this contract marks the second phase of the Riyadh Water Strategic Plan, codenamed Contract Number 5 – Phase 1.
According to sources close to the NWC, the EPC contract will be assigned by the fourth quarter of 2023. The avant-garde project includes installing a network of cutting-edge main water pipelines, of a total length of 48 kilometers.
To be completed by the fourth quarter of 2025, the project’s pipelines will be constructed using state-of-the-art ductile iron pipes of various sizes, ranging from 1000 mm down to 300 mm.
