Veolia has announced key leadership changes, appointing Emmanuelle Menning as Deputy CEO Finance and Purchasing, effective from September 1, 2024. Additionally, Selma Bekhechi will take on the role of Director of Investor Relations.
The appointments will infuse a new dynamic to strengthen the Group's growth and efficiency strategy, while ensuring perfect alignment with its financial objectives, said the company in a new press release. The firm believes that Menning and Bekhechi's extensive experience in major international corporations, along with their complementary skills, will help harmonize economic performance and international development to meet stakeholder expectations.
Menning, who has been with Veolia since 2014 and a management committee member since September 2020, will join the executive committee and report directly to Estelle Brachlianoff, CEO of Veolia. Menning’s career includes stints in auditing at Price Waterhouse Cooper, financial consulting at Ernst & Young, and investment banking at Natixis CIB before she became the financial director of Veolia’s German subsidiary in 2016. In 2018, she expanded her role to include the operational finance division of waste activity and development. Menning also serves on the supervisory board of international service companies in the energy and water sectors.
Selma Bekhechi joined Veolia's finance division in June 2024 to head the investor relations and financial communication management. Bekhechi’s background includes roles in investor relations, strategy, digital transformation, and e-commerce at Carrefour, Alstom, and Alcatel-Lucent. She now oversees financial communication and investor community interactions in line with Veolia’s new strategic roadmap. Bekhechi has also joined the management committee.
The appointments coincide with the departure of Claude Laruelle, who has served as Veolia’s CFO for six of his 24 years with the company. Laruelle will continue to contribute to the group by focusing on strategic mergers and acquisitions.
