This session will address one of the main challenges of digital advances in the water sector: cybersecurity. Water management systems are increasingly vulnerable to threats and cyberattacks that can compromise their operation, integrity, and confidentiality. To tackle this risk, prevention and protection strategies are needed to ensure the security of water infrastructure and the information they generate and manage.

Real cases of cyberattacks in the water sector will be presented, and the measures taken to mitigate their consequences will be shown. Additionally, cybersecurity recommendations and best practices for organizations and professionals working in water and digitalisation will be offered.
