IHE Delft Institute for Water Education is the largest international graduate water education facility in the world.

Themes

The Dhaka Water and Sanitation Authority (DWASA) and IHE Delft will collaborate to set up a new, regional training institute in Dhaka, called the Dhaka WASA International Training and Research Institute (DITRI). The institute will provide training programmes in the field of water supply and sewerage management.

The partners will identify opportunities for joint research and actively work on joint collaborative research proposals in water distribution, sewage management, urban water systems and on other fields of mutual interest.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Prof Eddy Moors (Rector of IHE Delft) and Dr Taqsem Khan (Managing Director of DWASA) on Friday, January 22, 2021.

The following guests were present at the online signing ceremony:

Mr. MD. Tazul Islam, MP, Honourable Minister, LGD (Signing Ceremony as Chief Guest)

Honourable Ambassador of Netherlands in Dhaka Mr Harry Verweij and Honourable Ambassador of Bangladesh in Hague Mr M. Riaz Hamidullah as Guests of Honour.
