Mobile Offshore Desalination as (MOD) has developed a new generation mobile offshore desalination solution, presently being priced by reputed construction yards in Singapore and China.
We expect to offer this solution to the market in May 2020.
The design strategy is to offer a fully independent unit for flexible locations. However, the generic design can easily be altered to accommodate client’s requirements, such as power supply from onshore “green energy” plants.
The generic solution is based on LNG fuel, due to both cost- and environmental reasons and process system will be tailor made for the specific location.

The unit can be fueled by purpose designed bunker vessel where MOD can take responsibility for LNG logistics
MOD will focus on several advantages in the upcoming market introduction:
- Eliminating the need for waterfront property
- Eliminating the need for upfront investment
- Lower impact on near-shore environment and marine life
- Optimizing onshore water distribution by subsea piping
- Mobile, and can be relocated in case of drought or catastrophic events
- 20-24 months execution period
There are also a massive production advantages in building units at a professional construction yards, where facility and manpower is tailor-made for this purpose, and several units may be built in parallel.
MOD plan to introduce a unit with lower investment cost (even without considering water front property valuation).
MOD has developed the unit in exclusive co-operation with following well reputed companies:
