This sustainable way of growing rice produces bumper harvests

This sustainable way of growing rice produces bumper harvests while cutting gas emmisions. It was developed by Henri de Laulanié, a priest in Madagascar in the 1980's. He noticed that planting fewer, younger rice plants further apart, keeping them moist, but not flooded, and using organic compost, generates 20%-50% more rice, while using up to 90% fewer seeds and 50% less water.
