Telefónica Tech to connect more than 300,000 water meters for EMASESA

Telefónica Tech and the manufacturer Contazara will connect 77,300 meters for EMASESA, in addition to 41,500 hub devices (concentrators) which will in turn allow up to seven additional meters to be connected. The remote metering project, which is part of EMASESA's Strategic Plan for Digital Transformation, was launched last January, has a four-year timeframe and currently more than 30,000 devices have already been implemented and more than 100,000 meters have been connected.

Telefónica optimizes the Aigües de Barcelona plant thanks to 5G

This is a pioneering project through which the security cameras of the drinking water treatment plant (DWTP) of Aigües de Barcelona in Sant Joan Despí have been connected to each other with 5G technology so that the images collected can be processed in real time in Telefónica's edge computing. With this pilot, simpler operations are achieved, as well as transforming processes and infrastructures to more scalable, flexible and easily evolvable models that lead to economic efficiencies.
