Water companies will invest a record £14.4 billion – the highest amount ever in a single year – to help ensure the security of our water supply in the future and significantly reduce the amount of sewage in rivers and seas. Companies will also increase support for low-income households to its highest level ever. More than 2 million households now receive help with their water bills. Customers have seen their bills fall in real terms over the last decade, with average bills to increase by around £2 a month from April 2024.
