Hydraulic modeling is now widely recognised as essential in the digitalisation of water networks, supporting planning, design, and management. For these models to be effective, they must be integrated with existing systems (SCADA, RT-DSS, work order systems, weather forecasts, etc.) and accessible to all users. In this webinar, Autodesk and Idrostudi will demonstrate how InfoWorks ICM software is integrated into the web-based iCG platform, meeting the growing demand for accessible “digital twin” tools for non-specialists in hydraulic modeling.
The focus will be on the evolution of hydraulic models, highlighting their transition from planning tools to operational management support. The advanced functionalities of InfoWorks ICM will be demonstrated, showing how they can be easily accessed by external teams through the intuitive and powerful Digital Twin module of Idrostudi’s iCG platform.
In this webinar we will discuss:
- Management Support Systems based on Hydraulic Digital Twins: definition and benefits arising from their adoption
- Common challenges in the transition from traditional hydraulic models, typically “static” and built with reference to the critical design day, toward “dynamic” models that represent the actual operational conditions of the water network
- Presentation of Idrostudi’s iCG platform and the methods of integration with InfoWorks ICM
- Benefits of adopting the iCG Digital Twin, illustrated through the presentation of a sewer system case study and a modification of its virtual replica in anticipation of a system upgrade, both for routine and emergency management: identification of critical issues, assessment of current and future impacts, and analysis and comparison of different response scenarios

Efficient Drainage Modelling for Housing Developments: Best Practice Case Study
Still using spreadsheets or struggling with over-complicated drainage models on housing sites? With tighter sites and increasing planning pressure, inefficient drainage modelling can lead to unreliable results, inflated storage requirements, and wasted design time.
We are delighted to welcome Brian Jones, Associate Engineering Director at Newland Homes, who will present a real-world, best-practice approach to drainage modelling for housing developments. Using a recently approved greenfield site as a case study, Brian will walk through his practical workflow for building an efficient drainage model and integrating SuDS features on a constrained site.
In this webinar, you will learn how to:
- Build efficient drainage models without unnecessary complexity
- Move beyond spreadsheets to a more reliable, scalable modelling workflow
- Integrate SuDS features on tight housing sites with limited green space
- Avoid common modelling pitfalls that increase storage volumes and design risk
Attendance certificates for proof of continuing professional development will be provided to all attendees.
