Leveraging Rainwater Management for Climate Resilience

Climate change continues to drive heavier rainfall and more extreme floods across the EMEA region. It’s why the challenge of managing rainwater has greatly increased in recent years especially for urban environments where the impact of flooding and pollution pose a severe threat to health, safety and quality of life.

Join us to hear from Anthony McCloy, Director at McCloy Consulting to learn about his work with the Irish Government in developing guidance for Rainwater Management Plans (RMPs).

Find out how we can begin to sustainably manage rainfall runoff from both existing and future developments and how a greater understanding of rainwater management will assist in future plan-making as well as make our urban areas more climate resilient.

  • Understand the issues the plan will address
  • Discover the process and considerations to inform the plan
  • Gain insight into types of data to use and their outputs

Join us to also receive a FREE guidance document for RMPs to help you understand the processes, considerations, data and outputs.

Attendance certificates for proof of continuing professional development will be provided for this webinar.

Remember to join us LIVE or register for a recording!

Modelling innovative Blue-Green approaches to stormwater management

Watch the webinar

In this webinar AECOM will showcase how a pilot project is spearheading an exciting new approach to urban water management.

The £76M Mansfield Sustainable Flood Resilience project is tackling the increasing challenge of surface water flooding – a risk intensified by climate change and urban development – through the widespread use of nature-based solutions such as rain gardens, bioswales and detention basins. Hundreds of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) are being installed throughout the town, making it the largest retrofit scheme of its kind in the UK.

As lead design partner and strategic advisors to Severn Trent, AECOM developed the catchment strategy and used hydraulic modelling to select sites for the SuDS and inform both outline and detailed design. The pace and scale of this programme demanded innovation and excellence at every stage. Find out how AECOM developed a multifaceted modelling strategy based on InfoWorks ICM that forced a rethink to their approach as traditional methods would have taken too long.

Join us to learn how the Mansfield scheme uniquely moves away from a traditional engineering approach and uses blue-green infrastructure instead to slow the flow and store the water.

Attendance certificates will be provided to attendees to use for proof of continued professional development.

Hannah Howe - Principal Consultant & Team Leader at AECOM

From Planning to Practice: Integrated Hydraulic Models in the Digital Twin with InfoWorks WS Pro and iWG

Register now

Hydraulic modelling is increasingly central to the digital transformation of Integrated Water Service, becoming an essential tool for planning, designing, and managing networks. To maximize the effectiveness of the insights generated by models, it’s crucial that these tools are fully integrated with other systems used by Water Authorities, such as work order management (WOM), SCADA, telecommunications, and real-time decision support platforms (RT-DSS).

In this webinar, Autodesk and Idrostudi will showcase the integration of InfoWorks WS Pro modelling software within the iWG platform, meeting the growing demand for 'digital twin' tools that are accessible even to non-modelling professionals. The event will focus on key aspects for transitioning from hydraulic models designed for planning to those capable of supporting operational management, demonstrating how the advanced functionalities of InfoWorks WS Pro can be easily utilized by external teams via a new powerful and intuitive web-based interface developed on the iWG platform by Idrostudi.
