The Year in Infrastructure 2019 Conference has started in Singapore, with a day dedicated to communication media. More than 100 journalists from across the world cover the event, well established as one of the most important in the area of infrastructure design, construction and operations.

Digitalisation has been today's unquestionable key theme, a day which began with a talk by Greg Bentley, the announcement of Bentley's product innovations, and the company's new partnerships and acquisitions. Among them, we may note the creation of Digital Construction Works, a Joint Venture with Topcon Positioning Systems.

Digital twins have been another key point discussed today. These digital models allow users to visualise an asset, carry out an analysis of its condition and generate information to predict and optimise its performance. It is a huge advance that will enable decision making based on each portion of an asset's life cycle.

We have been able to discuss these topics with Gregg Herrin (Senior Director of Water Infrastructure at Bentley Systems) and Frank Braunschweig, (Senior Product Manager at Bentley Systems), which you will see very soon in Smart Water Magazine.

In essence, a very intense day, which will now culminate with the Media Dinner at The Clifford Pier, the outstanding restaurant of the Fullerton Bay Hotel. After that we will have to get a good rest, get over out jet-lag and recharge our batteries to watch tomorrow the presentations of the YII Awards finalists, where I am a juror for the water category.

Greetings from Singapore. We will keep you informed.
