Construction begins on Saudi Arabia’s Jubail 3B Independent Water Project
A groundbreaking ceremony took place today at the 570,000 m3/day Jubail 3B Independent Water Project (IWP) plant in Saudi Arabia, marking the start of construction. The plant is being built by a consortium comprised of ENGIE, Nesma Company Limited and Ajlan & Bros holding group for Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC). The desalination plant, which will have the largest in-house solar capability of 61 Mwh for a desalination plant in the Kingdom, will provide potable water to Riyadh and Qassim regions when complete in 2024.
