ACCIONA Agua has been named “Desalination Company of the Year” for 2018 by Global Water Intelligence (GWI) magazine, a leading publication in the sector that presents the Global Water Awards every year. The winners were announced yesterday at a gala dinner held in London.
This award recognises the company’s achievements in the field of desalination over the last year and in particular its consolidated and rapid implementation in this market in Saudi Arabia. GWI highlighted the company’s “meteoric” rise in the Middle East in recent years, which in 2018 led to it being awarded the Jebel Alí desalination plant in Dubai and the Al Khobar 1 and Shuquaiq 3 desalination plants in Saudi Arabia.
ACCIONA Agua has won various awards in the last few years at the Global Intelligence Water Awards, including “Water Company of the Year” in 2010, 2013 and 2017. This is also the third time that it has won the “Desalination Company of the Year” award, having previously won it in 2007 and 2016.
