ACCIONA's Water business has obtained ISO 55001 certification in recognition of the implementation of its new asset management policy. It has achieved this with the backing of AENOR, a leading trust-building organisation. The standard establishes the requirements for an asset management system that maximises the value of assets throughout their useful life.
This is the first time ACCIONA has obtained this certification. It covers the four key areas of the company's water business
ISO 55001 recognises the implementation of policies, procedures and checks that align asset management with an organisation's strategic objectives. It operates through a risk-based approach, consisting of the identification, assessment and mitigation of risks associated with assets. It also promotes continuous improvement by constantly monitoring asset performance and data-driven decision-making. ISO 55001 also emphasises the involvement of all levels of an organisation, ensuring a holistic approach to the management and optimisation of resources.
This is the first time ACCIONA has obtained this certification. It covers the four key areas of the company's water business: purification, drinking water treatment, desalination and sewerage networks, highlighting its overall approach to the efficient and sustainable management of water resources. ACCIONA thereby strengthens its capability to ensure optimum performance in each of the infrastructures it manages, guaranteeing quality, safety and efficiency in all phases of the water cycle.
With this certification, ACCIONA reinforces its commitment to operational excellence, sustainability, technological innovation and regulatory compliance.
