This landmark project by ACCIONA is located in Tampa Bay on the west coast of Florida and supplies at least 10% of the water consumed in the area. Furthermore, the plant was awarded the Global Water Intelligence prize in 2008 as the best desalination plant of the year, in recognition of the most notable technological progress seen in the desalination sector in 2007.
