We are honored to welcome the esteemed participation of Loïc Fauchon, President of the World Water Council at the 5th Arab Water Forum scheduled to take place from 21 - 23 September 2021 in at the Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
In this video Mr Fauchon highlights the long standing collaboration between the World Water Council and the Arab Water Council, with the objective of “making water a global political priority on every continent and in every region of the world”, adding “The 5th Arab Water Forum is considered one of the most important water-related event in the Arab region, and this year the main subject is Arab water security for peace & sustainable development.”
Mr Fauchon emphasises the role of water in peace and equitable development, and proposes three pillars to ensure water security: sharing knowledge, mobilising new types of hybrid financing, and creating adapted and decentralised governance.
Being the Arab region a pioneer in many technological and innovative solutions such as wastewater reuse and desalination, Mr Fauchon stresses the value of this for arid regions in the world, concluding “The Arab Water Forum is an important milestone for the preparation of the 9th World Water Forum, which will take place in Dakar in March 2022.”
