A report released this week by the Consumer Council for Water, a statutory consumer body for the water industry in England and Wales, has named Bristol Water the industry’s best performer in leakage.
Mel Karam, Chief Executive Officer at Bristol Water, said: “We’ve been recognised as the top performer in leakage, after setting ourselves ambitious targets and working hard to achieve them.
“Our customers and stakeholders can trust us to deliver on our promises. It’s in everyone’s interest to prevent wastage, help keep bills low and reduce disruption in the community.
“We’ve doubled our team of leakage inspectors, fitted more water meters which help us to detect leaks, fitted high-tech monitors and started our biggest ever programme of mains replacement schemes.
“In our minds, this is not the end of our hard work. We will continue to reduce leakage. We have promised that we want to remain the top performer in the industry for years to come.”
