Mexico and IHE Delft agreed to intensify cooperation for sustainable management of water and sanitation in a letter of intent signed this week by Ambassador Jose Antonio Zabalgoitia Trejo and Professor Eddy Moors, Rector of IHE Delft.
In the letter, the parties agree to cooperate to promote the dissemination and use of water knowledge by relevant Mexican institutions.
The Embassy agreed to share Mexican institutions’ water policies and actions with IHE Delft, and to share IHE Delft research and capabilities with Mexican institutions as part of efforts to foster collaborative projects.
“Mexico and the Netherlands have the capability to work together under a new kind of international relationship based upon the strengths of each other,” Ambassador Zabalgoitia Trejo said during a ceremony to sign the letter, held 24 November 2021.
“We must understand our time as a scientific and technological world where sharing knowledge, stimulating mobility, and bolstering international knowledge networks are the key elements. All of this must be aimed at benefiting the lives of people and improving their communities.
Rector Moors noted that the letter will further strengthen the IHE Delft’s and Mexico’s longstanding relationship.
“The intensified cooperation we agreed to today will enable us to build on this relationship and develop a strategic approach for the future,” he said.
