Learning at Kigali Initiative comes from a World Bank’s NewIBNET and the International Water Association (IWA) collaboration to bring member Utilities to Learn at the IWA Water and Development Conference and Exhibition (WDCE) on 10-14 December 2023 in Kigali, Rwanda. This initiative also provides the opportunity to connect with water and sanitation professionals worldwide.
This initiative is a unique opportunity to recognize utilities from around the world who commit to becoming a NewIBNET member while also inviting them to contribute to vibrant learning exchanges and building new relationships at one of the key knowledge sharing events in the sector.
Marco Aguero (Sr Water and Sanitation Specialist, World Bank)
This initiative provides an excellent opportunity for Water Utilities to be selected for a fully sponsored Conference Participation Package for the IWA WDCE in Kigali. The full conference participation package includes (air) travel to Kigali from the next larger city with an airport, cost of the transport from Kigali airport to the conference venue, hotel coverage for the time of the conference, and the full conference fee. Five (5) utilities will be randomly selected during the announcement event on the 13th of November 2023. You can read more about this initiative here and read more about the IWA WDCE here.
We would like to encourage water utilities to participate in the NewIBNET global network. It is a new solution with the potential to help water utilities globally to overcome current a future challenge associated to climate change, increasing pressure on resources, financing and improving infrastructure to mention a few.
