Applied Membranes Inc (AMI), a USA-based provider of advanced water and wastewater treatment solutions, will be using NX Filtration’s hollow fiber nanofiltration (HFNF) membranes for advanced wastewater reuse at a pharmaceutical company.
The pharmaceutical company seeks to reduce its freshwater intake and wastewater discharge by reusing its process water. AMI selected NX Filtration’s HFNF technology to remove high concentrations of organic compounds from the company’s wastewater stream. Combining this treated wastewater with a reverse osmosis (RO) system enables an efficient and robust water reuse system.
Manisha Dhawan, VP at AMI, comments: “NX Filtration’s HFNF membranes deliver the performance we need for this demanding pharmaceutical application. The strong organic removal combined with high recovery enables our customer to safely reuse process water.”
Esther Victoria Guedez, Country Manager for NX Filtration in North America, comments: “We are proud to add AMI to our growing list of OEM partners in the Americas. Our membranes have proven to uniquely address complex waters, ranging from reusing industrial wastewater to removing PFAS from drinking water sources.”
The project highlights how HFNF can support sustainable water management in high-value industrial sectors such as pharmaceuticals. By effectively removing organics, HFNF enables circular water use with lower fouling, reduced chemical consumption and improved overall system reliability.
