The Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) has appointed a new President and CEO. Alicia Fraser will assume this new role starting March 31, 2022. Alicia – currently OCWA’s Vice President of Operations, South Peel (Peel Region) – will succeed Nevin McKeown as he retires after 30 years with the Agency.
“Alicia’s significant background and expertise in engineering and operations has served our clients and the Agency well throughout the years and we are excited to see her expand her leadership role within the Agency. Alicia not only understands the importance of delivering great service to our partners, but also the value of supporting and advancing innovation within the water and wastewater industry. We look forward to working closely with Alicia to continue to help build healthy and sustainable communities,” said Joe Pennachetti, Chair, OCWA Board of Directors. He added, “On behalf of the Agency, I would like to thank Nevin for his many years of service and extend our best wishes to him in his retirement.”
Alicia has been with OCWA since 2016, joining the Agency as Vice President, Engineering, Capital and Support Services, before taking on the role of Vice President of Operations, South Peel in 2019. During her time at OCWA, Alicia has played a critical role in driving a number of significant Agency initiatives, including the restructuring of OCWA’s technical services team to meet our clients’ needs, as well as the delivery of our health and safety, Asset Stewardship Quality Management System and waste diversion programs. In her role as Vice President, Operations, South Peel, Alicia was responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment and water transmission that serve approximately 1.5 million people in the Regions of Peel and York.
