Sacyr has received up its third “Calculo-Reduzco” (Calculate-Reduce) seal, a distinction granted by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, for reducing its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in its activities in Spain.
This distinction recognizes Sacyr’s efforts to reduce the average intensity of its emissions by 8.41% in 2018-2020 for scopes 1, 2, and 3 compared to 2017-2019.
The “Calculo-Reduzco” seal is granted to organizations that calculate and record their carbon footprint for a minimum of four years, have a plan to reduce their GHG emissions, and bring this reduction commitment to fruition, with the Ministry’s validation.
The renewal of this seal is a direct consequence of our commitment to sustainability as one strategic line of the 2021-2025 Plan, which promotes our goal to be carbon neutral by 2050, which is framed within the context of this initiative.
A firm commitment
Reducing emissions offers significant opportunities for growth, development, competitiveness, and contributes to improving the environs where Sacyr operates as a company.
This distinction strengthens our contribution to attaining Sustainable Development Goal 13 “Climate change” and thus, the 2030 Agenda, by incorporating climate change-fighting measures into our management decisions and supporting national plans targeted at achieving this purpose.
More and more every year, investors, customers, society and all stakeholders in general call for and value organizations that are committed to environmental sustainability and act proactively about it.
This achievement adds up to the important work Sacyr has been doing in recent years in the field of sustainability, analyzing all the aspects in which the impact of its activity can improve in a positive way.
