The Saudi Water Partnerships Company (SWPC) is pleased to announce the successful completion of the evaluation process for the private sector bids for the Jubail 4 and Jubail 6 Independent Water Plant (IWP) project. The project to be established in the eastern province south of Jubail, will deliver a potable water production capacity of 600,000 cubic meters per day (m³/day), and will be developed and operated by the private sector for a duration of 25 years from the project’s commercial operation date expected in the first quarter of 2028.
The project scope will also encompass the construction of an electrical substation connected to the main power source via a transmission line. This infrastructure will support the operations of the water plants and ensure efficient integration with the Jubail Water Transmission Complex.
Following the receipt and evaluation of the bid, SWPC is proud to announce the preferred bidder for Jubail 4 and Jubail 6 Independent Water Plant:
Preferred bidder: ACWA Power, Haji Abdullah Alireza & Partners Company, and AlSharif Contracting and Commercial Development consortium. The consortium submitted a highly competitive Levelized Cost of SAR 1.8206 per cubic meter (SAR/m³).
This project signifies a continuation of the collaborative efforts between the public and private sectors in the domain of water production within the Kingdom, in alignment with the National Water Strategy, which is dedicated to addressing critical challenges and reforming the water and wastewater sector to ensure the sustainable development of water resources in the Kingdom while underscoring the importance of delivering high-quality services at reasonable prices, in accordance with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
