The Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC), in collaboration with the Portuguese Water Partnership (PPA), will host a panel discussion on “Best Practices of PPP in the Water Sector” during the European Desalination Society (EDS) Congress, taking place April 27–30 at the Alfândega Congress Centre in Porto.
Scheduled for Monday, April 28, from 10:50 AM to 12:30 PM, the session will feature representatives from SWPC’s key developer partners: ACWA Power, Alkhorayef Water & Power Technologies (AWPT), Aljomaih Energy and Water Company, and the International Water Distribution Co. (Tawzea).
The panel will explore how Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) have strengthened the water sector in Saudi Arabia, emphasising the growing role of the private sector in enhancing operational efficiency and long-term sustainability. It will also highlight SWPC’s role as a central enabler in building local capabilities and driving investment.
Through a showcase of major achievements, strategic insights, and lessons learned, the session will present a compelling model of collaboration that supports sustainable water development and sectoral resilience. The discussion aims to share practical frameworks and success stories that can be adapted by other regions looking to develop or expand PPP models in the water sector.
This session is expected to attract international stakeholders interested in scalable, resilient solutions for water infrastructure and management.
