About the entity

SHARAKAT Owned by the Ministry of Finance, with a mandate to become the principal buyer of all types of water, in addition to tendering water projects in partnership with the private sector.

Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) has received bids from the private sector for the Jubail-Buraydah Independent Water Transmission Pipeline (IWTP) Project. The following consortiums have submitted their proposals:

  • Aljomaih Energy & Water Company, Nesma Company, and Buhur for Investment Company.
  • Vision International Investment Company and TAQA.

Buraydah Independent Water Transmission Pipeline is planned to span 587 KM and will have a transmission capacity of 650,000 cubic meters per day. Commercial operations are anticipated to begin in the first quarter of 2029.

The developer or developer consortium will develop the project on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis and will provide the entire transmission capacity to SWPC under a Water Transmission Agreement (WTA), expected to be up to 35 years.
