At the recently held Global Water Summit 2024 in London, the Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) received the prestigious "Public Water Agency of the Year" award. This accolade recognizes SWPC's leadership and extensive expertise in public-private partnerships (PPPs), significantly advancing water infrastructure projects across Saudi Arabia.
In a double victory, the Jubail 3A project, one of the key initiatives under SWPC's management, was named "Desalination Plant of the Year." The project is noted for its innovative approach and substantial impact on the region's water supply, highlighting its critical role in sustainable water management.
SWPC operates as the primary tendering arm for all water-related infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia, managing a variety of projects including Independent Water Projects (IWP), Independent Sewage Treatment Plants (ISTP), Independent Sewage and Water Recycling (ISWR), Independent Water Transmission Pipelines (IWTP), and Sewage Treatment Plants (SSTP). As the sole buyer of water in the kingdom, SWPC boasts a significant offtake capacity, with over 14 million cubic meters per day of contracted capacity, underscoring its pivotal role in the national water sector.
These awards at the Global Water Summit not only highlight the achievements of SWPC and the Jubail 3A project but also reinforce the importance of innovative strategies in tackling global water challenges.
