Water- en Energiebedrijf Aruba N.V. (“WEB”) and Seven Seas Water Group (“Seven Seas”), a multinational provider of Water-as-a-Service® (WaaS®) solutions, announced the groundbreaking for a new state-of-the-art seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination plant in Aruba, marking a major milestone for the country’s infrastructure development.
The project was awarded to the Seven Seas Aruba affiliate in 2024, and the new water treatment facility will produce a minimum of 16,500 cubic meters of high-quality drinking water per day (~4.4 million gallons per day). This new plant represents a vital component of WEB’s long-term strategy to enhance water security and reliability for the people of Aruba. The Water-as-a-Service® facility will operate under a 10-year Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) agreement and is expected to be commissioned in 2026. It will be located within WEB’s existing water utility complex.

Once operational, this new facility will strengthen WEB’s ability to meet the growing needs of the island.
