Accenture has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Dragos and full ownership of runZero and NetRise in a deal valued at approximately $4.175 billion, combining the three companies into an end-to-end cybersecurity platform for operational technology (OT) environments.
The transactions extend Accenture's existing $10 billion cybersecurity business into the industrial sector. The combined platform is designed to protect the systems controlling power grids, pipelines, water infrastructure, manufacturing facilities, distribution networks and data centres.
Dragos, headquartered in Hanover, Maryland, provides OT-focused threat detection through a vendor-neutral platform. runZero, based in Austin, Texas, contributes asset discovery and attack-surface intelligence, while NetRise, also based in Austin, adds firmware-level visibility into connected devices and software supply chain analysis. Together, the three companies are estimated to generate around $208 million in annual recurring revenue as of June 2026, representing 53% year-on-year growth.
Dragos will continue to operate as an independent business under its co-founder and CEO, Robert M. Lee, who said the stakes are high. "Our energy and water systems, manufacturing plants, data centers and other operational environments need cybersecurity built from the ground up for xOT and designed to keep pace as threats evolve. The consequences of getting it wrong become societal threats," he said. "Organizations need solutions, not a patchwork of software and services."
The CEOs of runZero and NetRise will become key Dragos executives following the close of the transactions, which are expected in August or September 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. Accenture is targeting an OT cybersecurity market it estimates at $27 billion in 2026, projected to grow to nearly $59 billion by 2031.
