Alkhorayef Water and Power Technologies Co. (AWPT) has secured another stormwater services contract in Jeddah, bringing the combined value of its recently awarded contracts in the Saudi city to about 357.14 million Saudi riyals ($95.21 million).
The company has been awarded a contract by Jeddah Municipality to operate and clean stormwater and surface water networks in the Airport sub-municipality (20043-MA). According to a statement filed with the Saudi stock exchange, the agreement is valued at 93.59 million Saudi riyals ($24.93 million) and will run for 60 months.
Under the contract, AWPT will carry out operational and cleaning activities across stormwater and surface water drainage networks within the municipal district. These services are intended to help maintain the functionality of drainage infrastructure and support the management of rainfall runoff in urban areas.
The award follows a series of contracts secured by the company in Jeddah during February related to stormwater infrastructure. AWPT reported the award of a contract worth 108.46 million Saudi riyals ($28.92 million) for the operation and cleaning of stormwater and surface water networks in the South (SO) and Al-Malisa (ML) sub-municipalities. The project will be implemented over a 60-month period.
In addition, the company said it had signed a contract valued at 155.09 million Saudi riyals ($41.36 million) for the operation and cleaning of rainwater networks in the sub-municipalities of Al-Balad (BA), Al Jami’ah (JA) and Umm Al-Salam (US) in Jeddah. The scope includes the cleaning and operation of rainwater and surface water networks, as well as closed and open canals, also over 60 months.
The contracts highlight continued investment in the operation and maintenance of Jeddah’s stormwater infrastructure, an essential component of urban water management in the rapidly growing city.
