About the entity

Alkhorayef Water and Power Technologies Company signed a long-term agreement with Saudi Arabia’s National Water Company (NWC) at the end of April 2024, as reported in a stock exchange filing, according to Zawya.

The SAR 1.72 billion contract ($458 million) includes the operation and maintenance of sewage treatment plants in Al Ahsa City for 15 years.

Under this agreement, both entities will collaborate to manage three existing and one new sewage treatment plant (STP) in Al Ahsa. The rehabilitation process will be carried out in two phases over a total period of 36 months from the contract date.

The combined design treatment capacity of the plants is currently 457,500 cubic meters per day, which will be upgraded to 472,000 cubic meters per day.

Alkhorayef Water noted that the financial impact of the project, awarded last April, will begin in the third quarter (Q3) of 2024.
