The Ministry of Works in Bahrain has officially launched the tendering procedures for a comprehensive sewerage network initiative that encompasses roadworks within the Sitra Block 603 region, reports Utilities Middle East.
This multifaceted endeavor involves the construction of a state-of-the-art sewerage network, utilizing cutting-edge uPVC sewer main pipelines ranging from 200mm to 300mm in diameter, spanning a total distance of 2,554 meters.
In addition to this, complementary lateral lines measuring 150mm in diameter with an aggregate length of 1304 meters have been included in the project's design, as indicated on the Bahrain Tender Board website.
The ministry intends to establish a comprehensive drainage framework in tandem with the sewerage network development. This ambitious goal will be achieved through the incorporation of uPVC and GRP drainage main pipelines, featuring diameters ranging from 300mm to 800mm, and extending across a substantial span of 2,434 meters.
Furthermore, the project envisions the installation of 70 drainage manholes to ensure efficient functionality.
The tender process is exclusively open to contractors categorized as 'Grade AA and A,' demonstrating proven expertise in executing sewerage and drainage projects.
All bid submissions must be received by September 13.
Qualified contractors are required to possess valid prequalification licenses and official registration with the Ministry of Works.
The initiative also encompasses roadworks aimed at enhancing accessibility and overall connectivity.
The ministry has outlined the use of asphalt base courses, covering a significant area of 25,560 square meters, along with an additional 24,200 square meters.
The project is slated for completion within a two-year timeframe.
