Under the agreement, Bluewater Bio will implement its advanced Hybacs and FilterClear treatment technologies, addressing the growing demand for treated water driven by population and industrial growth.
Richard Haddon, Executive Chairman and CEO of Bluewater Bio, said: “We have been working to support Bahrain in achieving their ambitious National Water Strategy 2030. We have excellent references in the Kingdom that is enabling further growth across the GCC."
The British Ambassador to Bahrain, Alastair Long, praised the company's strong relationships and reputation in the region. "Bluewater Bio has built an excellent relationship in Bahrain and is a reputed provider of water technologies. I am delighted that they continue to grow in the region and as such, enhance the UK business brand," he said.
Scheduled for completion within two years, the upgraded plant will double its capacity to 30 million litres per day (MLD). This project represents Bluewater Bio's fifth major contract with Bahrain's Ministry of Works.
