Brian V. Iversen, Founder and Managing Partner of Cimbria Capital, has been appointed as a Member of the Board of Directors of H2O Shift, the Danish cleantech water company owned by ParadigmShift ApS. The appointment follows Cimbria Capital's investment into ParadigmShift ApS, announced earlier in March.
The move marks a significant milestone for Cimbria Capital, representing the firm's first venture capital investment — a deliberate departure from its typical later-stage, growth equity mandate. "This opportunity stood out due to the uniqueness of the technology, its value proposition, and its commercial potential," said Iversen. "I believe that H2O Shift's technology is revolutionary, something I have never said about any opportunity in my ten years of water tech investing. Due to this, and a strong management team, I had to be part of it."
H2O Shift has developed a chemical-free water treatment technology that has been proven across more than 4,000 installations. With a solid commercial foundation in place, the company is now entering a phase of accelerated growth, and Cimbria Capital's involvement is designed to fuel that momentum. "Our role will be to assist with all things commercial and with growing and strengthening H2O Shift's organization and processes," Iversen noted. "Their growth journey is only just now getting on its way."
This investment also marks Cimbria's second Danish water tech commitment, following its involvement with APX10, a Denmark-based water tech software company where Iversen serves as Chairman of the Board.
True to Cimbria Capital's active investment philosophy, Iversen's board seat reflects the firm's hands-on approach. "Cimbria does not make passive investments. We only invest if we have a seat at the table — and I could not be more excited about being an active team member for this company."
