Brightwater, a water and wastewater provider to businesses in Scotland, announced the acquisition of UK-based water and energy supplier Blue Business Water Ltd. Tom Barberton was also appointed as managing director, reports Scottish Financial Times.
The acquisition of Bristol-based competitor Blue Business Water will increase Brightwater’s annual customer revenues to more than £9 million (US$10,7 million).
Tom Barberton was recruited by Brightwater in 2021 as group sales director, covering operations across Brightwater, Spotless, and its waste management subsidiary company Brightwaste. He previously held senior leadership roles in British Gas, Total, and a number of B2B and B2C energy start-ups.
Mr Barberton said: “I’m pleased to take on this new challenge as Brightwater’s managing director. The company is supported by a great team and an experienced board, and I look forward to playing a key role to further grow the business.”
Rich Rankin, Brightwater’s Non-Executive Director, and former managing director set up the firm in 2016 with Roger Green, Chief Executive.
