Dalcour Maclaren has announced the acquisition of Geomap Ltd, a Gloucestershire-based geomatics and land surveying consultancy with over 15 years of experience in the Water and Waste sector. This move aims to strengthen the company's position as a leading land and environmental consultancy, offering comprehensive services to the utilities and infrastructure sectors.

Specialising in high-accuracy surveying and geospatial data, Geomap has long been a trusted partner for water and wastewater companies across the UK. The company’s expertise includes topographic, utility, and drainage surveys, as well as advanced techniques like laser scanning, 3D modelling, and photogrammetry. These capabilities are vital for supporting complex design, construction, and asset management tasks, especially in operationally constrained environments.

James Neil, CEO of Dalcour Maclaren, said: “I’m delighted that we’re welcoming Geomap into the Dalcour Maclaren ONETEAM. Its specialist land surveying expertise is a fantastic addition to our service offering. Geomap is already working with many of our clients and bringing it into the team means we can support those clients even better with their challenging programmes and projects. This marks an exciting new chapter in our growth, adding even more technical strength to help drive the utilities and infrastructure sector forward.”

With this acquisition, Dalcour Maclaren expands its specialist geospatial services, which are crucial for utilities and infrastructure projects

The acquisition aligns with Dalcour Maclaren's strategy to enhance its geomatics capabilities at a crucial time, as UK water companies gear up for the AMP8 investment programme aimed at improving resilience, reducing environmental impact, and enhancing water quality.

Charles Potten, founder and owner of Geomap, said: “Joining Dalcour Maclaren allows us to build on the surveying expertise and standards we’re known for, while applying that capability at a greater scale across major infrastructure programmes in all sectors. We’re excited to become part of a business with a strong focus on utilities and water, working on projects that make a real difference to network resilience and environmental outcomes.”

With this acquisition, Dalcour Maclaren expands its specialist geospatial services, which are crucial for utilities and infrastructure projects. The company’s multidisciplinary offering allows for seamless survey delivery, either by agreement or through statutory powers under the Water Industry Act, ensuring efficient and compliant project execution.

The move marks a key step in Dalcour Maclaren’s ongoing expansion, positioning the company to better serve the growing needs of the water and waste sector.
