Ecolab has introduced a new technology in the Middle East designed to enhance data center cooling performance. The solution, 3D TRASAR Technology for Direct-to-Chip Liquid Cooling, is designed to monitor coolant health indicators in real-time, including temperature, pH, and flow rates, to help maintain optimal conditions for data center servers.
This technology is part of Ecolab’s broader portfolio intended to support data center operations by improving efficiency and reducing resource consumption. The company says its solutions are aligned with the growing demand for sustainable digital infrastructure in the region.
According to PwC, data center capacity in the Middle East is projected to increase from 1 GW in 2025 to 3.3 GW over the next five years. As data centers expand to accommodate the increasing use of artificial intelligence, the need for reliable cooling systems also rises, particularly in regions where high temperatures and water scarcity present significant challenges.

Stefan Umiastowski, Ecolab’s Senior Vice President & CEO for India, Middle East, and Africa, said: “The Middle East is rapidly emerging as a global hub for AI and digital infrastructure — and with that growth comes rising demand for water and energy. This new technology arrives at a critical time, helping our customers meet the demands of AI-driven expansion while managing resources efficiently. In one of the most water-scarce regions in the world, performance and sustainability must go hand in hand.”
Ecolab states that the development of this technology was guided by feedback from data center operators and IT equipment manufacturers. The company's full suite of cooling management solutions now includes systems ranging from traditional cooling towers to direct-to-chip technologies.
“Water is no longer just a utility — it’s a strategic asset. And with the right approach, AI can help solve the very challenges it creates. By combining Ecolab’s expertise with advanced digital tools, we’re helping data centers do more with less — aligning environmental stewardship with business performance,” added Umiastowski.
