After announcing the Levelized Water Costs submitted by five bidders for the Yanbu-4 independent water project, the Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) appointed the consortium comprising Engie and Mowah Company as the Preferred Bidder for the development, design, financing, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of Yanbu-4 independent water project. 

Last month of October, six leading utility developer consortia made up of ACWA Power, Engie, FCC Aqualia, Marubeni, UTICO, Veolia Middle East, sent in their proposals for the independent water project (IWP) to be set up in the Yanbu province using reverse osmosis (RO) seawater desalination technology. The project will boast a potable water capacity of up to 450,000 cubic meters per day.

France-based Engie submitted the lowest bid of SAR 1.7446 per cubic metre for the Yanbu 4 independent water project, followed by the consortium led by Aqualia of SAR 1.7775/m3, ACWA Power of SAR 1.8435/m3, Marubeni Corporation of SAR 1.9168/m3 and Veolia of SAR 2.0242/m3.
