Bahrain’s Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) has extended the bid submission deadline for the tender to construct a new water distribution station on Hawar Island, located on the country’s southeastern coast, according to tender documents.

The deadline, originally set for 23 November 2025, has been moved to 7 December 2025.

The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract is anticipated to be awarded in February 2026, a source familiar with the project told Zawya Projects.

The project involves the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of a distribution facility that will include two welded steel ground storage tanks, each with a capacity of 1 million imperial gallons. It will also include pumps for transferring water into the distribution network, chlorination units and related systems. The contract period is 18 months.
