Felip Ortuño has been appointed Technical Director at WSP in the United Kingdom. He works in groundwater management, mining hydrogeology and groundwater modelling in different sectors of the company.
Felip holds a B.Sc. in Geology and an M.Sc. in Hydrogeology (2002, Technical University of Catalonia, Spain), and has over 30 years of experience in Europe and South America. His expertise areas are mining hydrogeology and dewatering, groundwater modeling, water management and planning, salinized aquifers and managed aquifer recharge.
He also has experience in hydraulic characterization of aquifers and hydrogeology of fractured and low permeability environments. Felip has authored or co-authored more than 14 scientific papers related with hydrogeology and has lectured at more than 30 conferences in several institutions and participated in congresses in Spain, Portugal, France, United Kingdom, Italy, Mexico, Argentina, Peru and Chile.
Felip joined WSP (former WOOD and Amec Foster Wheeler) on September 2022 as Associate Director, working in the Water Management Area. He provided inspirational leadership for the groundwater modelling team in the Shrewsbury office, leading business development and major proposals to help develop the portfolio of groundwater modeling projects.
