About the entity

FIDO Tech has announced the appointment of Jack Canfield as its new US Country Director. Canfield will be tasked with helping to expand the adoption of FIDO AI's advanced solutions for detecting water loss, particularly in the face of increasing water scarcity and regulatory pressures across the United States.

FIDO AI is a cutting-edge technology designed to quickly and accurately identify leaks and other non-revenue water (NRW) events within pipeline networks. The technology also offers insights into the size and precise location of these issues, helping utilities and municipalities address water losses more effectively.

With over 20 years of experience in managing and digitizing water network processes, Canfield will work closely with system owners and operators to integrate AI into water resilience efforts. His focus will be on helping communities enhance water conservation and improve operational efficiency.

“I’ve been working with AI for eight years and I see it as a fantastic really useful tool, especially when it comes to helping fulfill resources that municipalities don’t have and can’t attain,” Canfield said. “It does repetitive work extremely well which frees up human resources for tasks that require more critical thinking so that things get done faster. This is vital, especially in areas like the southwest United States which are really struggling to fulfill their obligations.”

Canfield’s background includes senior roles at the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) and the City of Houston, where he gained extensive experience in water networks. Most recently, he worked at Grundfos, overseeing global applications and business development.

FIDO’s Chief Revenue Officer, Phillip Tomlinson, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Jack. He has the network knowledge and experience that our customers respect, and is an enthusiastic advocate of AI, thanks to his personal experience of deploying digital technologies successfully. He can speak the language of successful adoption.”

Canfield stated: “Having spent my entire career in water networks and more recently non-revenue water, I am passionate about it. I’ve seen the US fully pivot now towards looking at water as a strategic asset. There’s a real mega trend to keep water in the pipes. It is long overdue.”

He added, “I want to make sure drinking water is more sustainable for my children and my children’s children. One way is to be pivotal in making this change and putting the name FIDO AI in the mouths of all utility leaders in the US when it comes to NRW.”
