In 2023, INDAQUA became the first Portuguese company to enter the Spanish water supply sector with the acquisition of INDAQUA Fusosa, which operates in the municipalities of Muro and Alcúdia, in Mallorca. This international expansion has now been further strengthened with the acquisition of Hidrogestión from Cobra IS, a subsidiary of the Vinci Group.
With a team of over 100 professionals, Hidrogestión manages 11 concessions—seven in the province of Toledo, with the remaining ones located in La Rioja, León, Jaén, and Granada—while also ensuring water supply and sanitation services in other regions across Spain.
Both INDAQUA and Hidrogestión bring more than 30 years of expertise in key areas such as water quality control, network and infrastructure management, including Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTPs), and leak detection and repair in supply networks.

According to Enrique Castiblanques, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the INDAQUA Group, "Spain is currently facing significant challenges in the integrated water cycle, both in terms of the financial sustainability of the systems and the management of water resources. INDAQUA has the expertise, resources, and technological capabilities to help address these issues, particularly through loss reduction strategies and innovative network management solutions."
Hidrogestión represents an excellent platform for the continued expansion of the INDAQUA Group in Spain, a highly competitive, dynamic, and developed market. "Our goal is to continue growing through concession tenders," adds Castiblanques.
In Portugal, the INDAQUA Group currently supplies more than 800,000 people across nine territories. Its expertise in water efficiency also enables it to work on short-term contracts, helping municipalities across the country enhance their water management performance.
