INDAQUA has completed an incremental financing of €358 million, provided by Schroders Capital and Santander. The company stated that the transaction strengthens its capital structure and supports its plans for continued growth.
The announcement comes after the company’s recent expansion into Spain and ongoing activity in Portugal.
Pedro Perdigão, INDAQUA Chief Executive Officer, said: "Completing this financing marks an important milestone for INDAQUA. It further reinforces confidence in our business model and allows the fast-growing company to rebalance its capital structure while continuing to deliver high-quality water services to the communities we serve."
INDAQUA operates long-term municipal water concessions in Portugal, serving more than 810,000 people. In Spain, it manages water supply networks and oversees a portfolio of municipal and industrial water contracts. The company also works on water efficiency initiatives, operational and maintenance services, and technical assistance across the urban water cycle.
The company reports that it has achieved low levels of water leakage by focusing on operational efficiency and reducing non-revenue water. It has also incorporated renewable energy sources, including solar PV and on-site cogeneration, into its operations.
