Jordan’s Ministry of Water and Irrigation has finalized an agreement for the sixth phase of the Deir Alla and Al Karama water networks rehabilitation project in the Balqa Governorate, according to Jordan News Agency.
Under this contract with the local Marwan Al Kurdi Company, 16 new wells will be drilled in the Abu Al Zygan area, marking a significant step in the comprehensive overhaul of the water networks in Deir Alla and Al Karama.
With a budget of approximately 97.24 million euros, sourced through a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and supplemented by full funding for studies, design, and supervision from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the project aims to enhance water supply across 17 locations within the districts.
Focused on reducing water losses, ensuring equitable distribution, and lowering operational costs, the project is structured into seven packages to achieve its objectives efficiently.
