Kemira to acquire Water Engineering in $150 million deal

  • Kemira to acquire Water Engineering in $150 million deal

About the entity

Kemira has signed a purchase agreement to acquire Water Engineering, Inc., a Nebraska-based company specializing in water treatment services, from Nolan Capital, Inc. The purchase price is approximately USD 150 million in cash, subject to standard adjustments. The transaction is expected to close before the end of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

The acquisition will expand Kemira’s Water Solutions business into industrial water treatment services. Water Engineering provides expertise in boiler and cooling tower water treatment, as well as industrial wastewater treatment for sectors including food and beverage, manufacturing, and healthcare. The company’s capabilities also create opportunities for cross-selling Kemira’s existing product portfolio.

Water Engineering has reported steady growth in recent years. According to Kemira, the acquisition is expected to support further expansion in the industrial water treatment services sector, which is projected to grow at a faster rate than traditional municipal and industrial water treatment markets.
