KSrelief signed an agreement worth USD 5 million with UNICEF to provide supplies for drinking water and water for human use in Marib, Al-Jowf, Hajjah, and Saadah governorates in Yemen, which is expected to benefit 33,235 individuals, reported the Saudi Press Agency.
 
KSrelief Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Beez and UNICEF Representative for the Gulf Area Eltayeb Adam signed the agreement at KSrelief’s headquarters in Riyadh.

The agreement aims at providing sources of drinking water in the neediest areas in Yemen, contributing to decreasing the percentage of diseases resulting from drinking polluted water, caring for hygiene and increasing sanitation services, in addition to increasing health awareness and building capacity.

Under the signed project, 7 water resources will be rehabilitated with their full facilities, including pumps, connections, water reservoirs and solar energy, in addition to building 73 toilets for camps of internal displaced people in Marib, and holding 12 courses for health awareness in all targeted areas to increase awareness in the environmental and health sectors.

This agreement is part of humanitarian and relief projects offered by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, to develop the water sector and the health environment in Yemen.
